Living in the Loveseat
“Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.” Genesis 2:25
“This is my lover and my friend.” Song of Solomon 5:16
At the heart of every strong marriage is a strong friendship. The best marriages are between two best friends.
- Friends carry each other’s burdens.
“Carry each others burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
Be there for your spouse in the moments that are most important for them; not just the moments that are most convenient for you.
- Friends should always tell each other the truth.
“An honest answer is a sign of true friendship.“ Proverbs 24:26
The depth of your honesty with each other will determine the depth of your intimacy with each other.
- Friends don’t give up on each other.
“Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.” Proverbs 17:9
Don’t treat your spouse the way your spouse treats you. Treat your spouse the way God treats you.
