First Blood

Hebrews 9:11-12 (NLT)
11 So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. 12 WITH HIS own blood —not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
The Blood is the heart of the Gospel. It is not primitive, archaic, or barbaric. The Blood of Jesus is precious, powerful, and beautiful! His blood, and His blood alone, has the power to cleanse us from all sin, free us from the curse of sin and restore us to our pre-fallen state.

2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. 3 How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?
