Words That Create Worlds

WORDS THAT CREATE WORLDS

Hebrews 11:3 (The Passion Translation)

Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen.

God created us in His image to reflect His image! That means we should be like, sound like and do everything like God would do.

Genesis 2:19-20 (NIV)

Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.

When God changed a person’s name, it was usually to establish a new identity.

  • God changed Abram’s name meaning “high father” to Abraham “father of a multitude” (Genesis 17:5)
  • God changed Abram’s wife’s name Sarai meaning “my princess” to Sarah “mother of nations” (Genesis 17:15).
  • God changed Jacob’s name meaning “supplanter” to Israel “having power with God” (Genesis 32:28).
  • God changed Simon’s name meaning “God has heard” to Peter “rock” (John 1:42).

1 Corinthians 1:5-6 (The Passion Translation)

In Him you have been made extravagantly rich in every way. You have been endowed with a wealth of inspired utterance and the riches that come from your intimate knowledge of Him. For the reality of the truth of Christ is seen among you and strengthened through your experience of Him.

Luke 6:45 (The Passion Translation)

“People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts, good and upright people will produce good fruit. But out of the evil hidden in their hearts, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words.”

Colossians 4:6 (The Passion Translation)

Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith.

Prophesying instead of Prosecuting: You were called to call the world into alignment with what Heaven is saying about it instead of condemning it for what it already is.

1 Corinthians 4:12-13 (The Passion Translation)

When people abuse and insult us, we respond with a blessing, and when severely persecuted, we endure it with patience. When we are slandered incessantly, we always answer gently, ready to reconcile.
