A few of Peter’s Interactions with Jesus:

  1. His call to ministry and to follow Jesus.
  2. Jesus changes Peter’s name from Simon to Peter.
  3. Peter catches a fish with a coin in its mouth.
  4. Jesus heals Peter’s Mother-in-law.
  5. Peter walks on water with Jesus.
  6. Peter rebukes Jesus which causes Jesus to rebuke Peter.
  7. Peter witnesses the transfiguration.
  8. Peter recognizes Jesus as the Messiah.
  9. Peter tells Jesus he’ll never deny Him.
  10. Peter cuts off a soldier’s ear during Jesus’ arrest.
  11. Peter denies Jesus and weeps bitterly.
  12. Peter confesses his love to Jesus 3 times.
  13. Peter watches Jesus ascend to Heaven.

  7. First 11 chapters of Acts record 8 long sermons of Peter.

  1. Noah + stone altar to memorialize the cleansing of the earth and salvation of Noah’s family.
  2. Abraham + four stone altars.
    1. The Altar of Promise(Gen 12:5-7): When Yaweh gave land to him and his seed.
    2. The Altar of Intimacy(Gen 12:8): When Abraham was coming to know the Lord as more than the God of creation and power.
    3. The Altar of No Return (Gen 13:3-4): When he built an altar of restoration to his former commitment
    4. The Altar of Sacrifice (Genesis 22): When he is asked to sacrifice his son on an altar & Yaweh provides a ram.
  3. Jacob + stone altar at Bethel to memorialize that Yaweh had answered him in his time of distress.
  4. Moses + stone altar called “Jehovah-Nissi, The Lord my Banner” to memorialize the Lord’s victory in battle.
  5. Stones were used in the tabernacle & Solomon’s temple, to build a wall around Jerusalem, to mark the Jordan River by Joshua, used by David to build an altar in celebration, by Gideon, and by so many others to memorialize what Father God had done in the lives of His people.
