Hunger and Thirst 1

John 4:14 (NLT) But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.
John 6:35 (NLT) Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
John 6:48-51 (NLT) Yes, I am the bread of life! Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.
John 7:37 (NLT) On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!
Do you connect with any of these spiritual hunger signals?
· frustration, irritability, being annoyed
· dissatisfaction/discontentment
· worry
· stress
· being unsettled, lack of peace
· conviction
· insecurity
· relationship issues
· feeling lost, disconnected, no sense of purpose
· intrigue with the supernatural
· an awareness that something is missing but can’t put your finger on it

Revelation 21:6 (NLT)I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.
· Begin to recognize spiritual signals of hunger and thirst.
· Stimulate hunger.
o Respond to your hunger and thirst signals. Don’t be so busy that you ignore spiritual hunger and thirst. Spiritually, this simultaneously satisfies and stimulates hunger.
o Smell – be around people who smell like Jesus, the Bread of Life.
o Eat salty things – be around people who are “salty” (Matthew 5:13-16) because they make your thirsty for Jesus, the Living Water.
o Pull up to the table – be at church.
o Don’t skip breakfast – start your day with Jesus
